Not a Good Day …
Today started out normal … then life changed with one phone call …
The phone call came from Holley, informing me of the passing of her mother, Judy … an amazing lady!
That is all I really want to say today.
… My World …
In the past I have been using our “Car House Adventure” (travel log site) as a general place of posting rants, C.O.P, and Flash Back Fridays. I found it to be cluttering the content that the majority people where coming to see. So if you want to see rants and everyday happenings go to http://www.sundaypeak.com. If you are looking for our adventures in travel you have found the spot!
Mooning of the Amtrak
The Mooning of the Amtrak is an held in the area of Mugs Away Saloon every year on the second Saturday of July. Thousands of people gather to drop their pants, or lift their skirts, along the fence as the amtrak trains pass by. The trains are normally packed full these day and even slow down so that the passengers can enjoy the show fully. Over the past couple of years it has turned into much more then just a mooning…now it is a festival similar to a Mardi Gras Celebration. The street is line with all types of vendors, party RVs and hundred os people. Between trains you may see an impromptu wet t-shirt contest, girls getting naked in blow-up pools and lots of flashing for beads.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to Everyone!
Happy 2nd Birthday!
In a funk ….
Today confirmed what I was beginning to believe. Part of getting older, the part that really sucks is watching Family, Friends, and Co-workers become ill and pass away. Today I learned that someone in one of the categories listed previously has been diagnosed with a brain tumor. They have been given a grim outlook due to its advanced stage. I find it hard to be the “it’s all going to be okay, you’re going to make it guy”, especially when I know all too well that it’s not reality. I offered my ear, assured them they would not be alone, and offered unlimited support in any form I could provide.
I don’t think I am negative … but I reviewed the relative survival rates over the past 21 years. They have 8.9% chance of seeing ten more years or a 39.6% chance on not surviving the first year. The chart below columns are; age, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5, Year 10 for Survival Rates.
