Pre Flight Check

As of today we are 21 days from our departure date (we up’d departure by two weeks).  Today we ran the RV down for the pre-travel inspection and maintenance.  The ABS light came on the last trip and it seems that the break fluid was draining from the reservoir quicker then normal.  So we wanted to get the breaks checked before we headed out.

Another addition on this trip will be the Rascal rack on the back of the RV.  We decided in order to get my father get out of the RV more and to help with our touristy stops that we would bring along his mobility cart.  So we got a rack to bring it along.

Crazy thought …

We are just under the sixty day mark until we hit the road again.  So began’s the planning stage … we decided to allow a little more time for site seeing.  We are going to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, just a few noteworthy stops.

Finalizing the September Trip Stops

We are going to make forty six dad stops for his patch collecting.  Three stops to visit friends and relatives.  We will be on the road for a total for twenty five days.

Little Update

We decided since we had a little time to spare on our September 2009 trip lets see the Atlantic Ocean.  So we have added Virginia and Maryland stops along the way.  What is another 1,390 something miles when you are already traveling 4,300 plus.

2009 Plans …

So lets bring everone up to date on the “big trips” 2009 travel plans.  There are a few smaller excursions planned but nothing note worthy.

 

 

February 27th – March 7th
mod_squadMy father, Chopper, and I are taking a 9 day trip through California, Arizonia, New Mexico, Texas, and Nevada.

 

 

 

 

 

May 2nd – May 18th
ratpack1Jonathan, Jennifer, Samuel, Ethan, Chopper, and I are taking a 19 day trip to Yellowstone and Zion National Park.

 

 

 

September 4th – September 22nd
mod_squadMy father, Chopper, and I are taking a 24 day trip through California, Arizonia, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah, and Nevada.  This will be a true sanity test and one to keep up to date on your blog readings.

Planned Trip

We planned our first road trip to test out the RV.  We are going to go to a local beach, not to far.  We want to make sure everything is working properly before we hit the open road.
