How this all started …

When I was a young lad my father use to torment me with a story, “When you are grown up your mother and I are going to get an RV and travel the states.  When this happens you will never see us again.”  At five, hearing you will never see your parents again can be some what traumatic.  Well the best laid plans do not always come to fruition.  My father has been disabled since 1998 and my mother passed away in 2006.

In August, 2008 I bought a motor home and began to carry out my fathers dream of traveling around the states.  In 2008 we covered seven states, in 2009 we up’d the ante to seventeen states.  By the end of 2010 we will have covered twenty nine unique states in the continental forty eight states.

Once we began these trips I quickly learned that I truly enjoyed this form of travel.  As you browse through the site and follow along on our adventures you will notice that the participants shift from time to time.  Sometimes it is just me and Chopper (my dog), sometimes we are with friends, and other times it is my father, Chopper, and myself.

I also have been asked, “Why Car House Adventures?”  Well we can thank Samuel, my friend’s cleaver two and a half year old (at the time) for that.  In his world RV’s are Car Houses.

For memory sake I have included this link to the old guestbook.
